Shall i not bother with heat protection spray??

I've been straightenin my hair for years now, and never once have i used heat protection spray. I've recently just got some GDH's now though, and some spray came with it, but i wonder to myself, is there actually any point in starting to use it now as i never have in the past- what difference will it make? My sister says it will make my hair fall out if i dont use it but i really want my hair to fall out because its so thick and i want it thin! What's a girl to do?

ghd's are a lot hotter than normal straighteners so use the heat protection spray, if the bottle was free what harm will it do....

Yes; you should use it. It'll make your hair softer and stronger (so it won't be so prone to breakage). If you want thin hair; just ask your salon girl to "thin it" with thinning shears.

I straighten my hair every day and I've never used it and people always comment on my healthy hair. I think its really important to use a good conditioner for your hair type, although I didn't use conditioner at all until I began to colour my hair. I think over use of products leads to hair being weighed down. You know your hair better than anybody else so do what makes it feel fabulous to you.

Okay, the reason that a GHD iron comes with heat protection spray is because it is a professional grade iron, and it has the capacity to get VERY hot. If you have been straightening your hair for years and don't have any damage, you're either very lucky, or you're just wrong, and you don't know what damage looks like. You absolutely should use the heat protection spray every time you style.

It won't make your hair fall out, and it definitely won't be something you WANT to happen, even if your hair is very thick. When your hair is damaged, it doesn't fall out by the root and come out of your scalp, it splits and breaks off all different lengths, making your hair look uneven, frayed, and much thicker on the top than on the bottom, and again, not in a good way. Bottom line is, heat damages your hair whether you use a spray or not, but using the spray will help keep your hair in good shape for longer, and aside from the health benefits, it actually makes your hair straighten better, look shinier, and lay smoother.

Always use heat protection spray. It doesn't cost you much and it doesn't take long.

You have nothing to lose! Unless you don't keep on using it, then you'll end up losing your hair...

It doesn't make your hair fall out but it will make your hair very weak. I do think heat protection spray makes a big difference. I don't use the GHD spray as I don't really like the smell of it. I use TREsemme heat defence spray. A slightly better smell compared to the GHD one. Whatever you use, just use it as it will be better for your hair. x

I never do and iv'e straighten my hair all the time...my hair is just great!!

i suppose if your hair is really fine i'd use it because it will fry your hair and we dont want that do we? :S

Dont get your hair to fall out, go to teh hairdressers and ask for it to be thinned and they will also be able to give you professional advice on what to do with the spray!
