Dry Hair. Help Please?

My hair is a few inches past my shoulders. I blow dry and straighten it regularly (I know, that's bad). But, I do drink plenty of water, and use a leave-in spray conditioner. I also make sure that my shampoo and conditioner have minimal alcohol levels.

My hair has become SO dry though. I've stopped straightening it for 2 weeks now. It's not really helping though. Does anyone have any reccomendations? A deep conditioning product, or home remedy.... anything!

-Also, I heard vitamin E is a good moisturizer... would that be good to spray in?

Diet-

Be sure that you're eating a lot of the B vitamins, try bananas, almonds, tree nuts, tuna, yellowfin, salmon. Also, fatty acids from fish such as tuna help extremely when it comes to both hair and nails. Also, hair and nails are both made out of keratin, a kind of protein, so be sure you're getting an adequete amount of protein.

Hair Care-

There are plenty of hair products that work amazing on hair, and most of these products come from brands like:

Aveda, Phyto, Kerstase, Ojon, Fredric Fekkai.

But I understand that these brands are higher-end and more expensive so try Nexxus, V05, Vive, Dove and Garnier Fruticus (spelling?) Because your hair is damaged I suggest using a shampoo and conditioner that help repair damaged hair, also, weekly or bi-weekly (twice a week) use a deep conditioning treatment. There are also conditioners that you use before shampooing and regular conditioner that help with moisture, those are good too. Also, go to a salon and get a professional deep-conditioning; this is expensive, but it works extremely well. Another way to DEEPLY help the hair (similar to that of salon treatments, not that expensive. Great to save money) is to use a clarifying (deep cleaning) shampoo, cover hair in deep conditioner, wrap it in aluminum foil or a plastic bag, and to blow dry it on a hot setting. The heat helps the hair soak the conditioners in more, and the clarifying shampoo gets rid of buildup which also helps. Something else that might help is using dandruff shampoo; dandruff shampoo is extremely moisturizing and really helps the scalp, and a healthy scalp is the base of a healthy head of hair. Also, if you can't afford products, I suggest using a hot-oil treatment with avocodo oils, you can probably look up more about these at-home treatments on the web... But DO NOT use olive oil, it smells and leaves the hair smelling weird, and it's extremely oily and is very hard to get out (oil and water don't mix) so stick to lighter oils like avocado.

Styling:

Another thing is, you don't have to give up styling hair completely, but only style it WHEN IT'S NEEDED, like at a formal event. A great thing would be to embrace your natural hair texture, so, like, if you had curly hair, use wave-creating sprays or texture-enhancing creams to control and make it better. If you still want to heat style, I suggest buying a blowdryer and straightner with tourmaline or ionic technology, which helps minimize damage to the hair and makes a smoother finish. Another thing is to not blast the air very hot at high speeds, this damages the hair. If you have the time, blow-dry it on slow speed with the cool temp on; if not use heat but don't set the speed on high. After styling the hair, use cold air for a bit, this closes the cuticle and makes hair appear extra shiny and healthy. Also ALWAYS before styling, but something in your hair that will protect it; this will help protect your hair and also make it look better.

Cut 1/2 an inch of or less(ask your hairstylist whatever amount is needed to get rid of split ends)

I would use Vive Pro shampoo and conditioner..

Tresemme Heat spray(this works miracles.) and harispray(so then everything is kept!)

If you want to keep you hair healthier try taking a shower at night put it up in a pony wet and it will dry over night.

That way you don't have a frizzy mess...and too much heat.

Straighten hair like normal.

Try a different leave in cond. maybe?

Possibly more of a spray kind rather then a lotion texture..those seem to work better.

Hope I helped=)閳?br>Dry Hair. Help Please?
