Dyeing Your Hair With Hydrogen Peroxide?

Unfortunately my skin is very light and any amount of time in the sun results in burns. I was told that by lightening my medium-dark brown hair (even just a few shades) will help to offset how noticeably light my skin is. I was told that by using a weak concentration of hydrogen peroxide (3%) that I could do it gradually with minimal damage. Right now I have been using a spray bottle to spray on the peroxide and I've already seen it starting to lighten up and it's pretty close to the shade I'm looking for (just before it starts to become brassy.) I would just like to know if I use this weaker concentration and only do it sparingly will I end up ruining my hair or having it fall out or something? Keep in mind this is by no means a drastic change, a few people have noticed just think I have been out in the sun. If I keep using a good shampoo and conditioner along with minimal peroxide use will I be o.k?

Us fair skinned/light skinned people usually have very sensitive skin....keep this in mind before trying.....also make sure before you do go ahead, be sure to condition your hair as this will really do a number on it as it will really dry it out, condition it once everyone 1-2 days on a regular basis and be sure to find the conditioner that is specified to dry/damaged hair. Try just a little bit somewhere it is not too obvious within your hair to make sure you are not too sensitive!

I am not very knowledgeable about hair, but I did work as a lifeguard last summer at the beach and all the guys there put it on everyday and never had a problem with hair falling out.

If you use hydrogen peroxide religiously, the chances are big in damaging your hair. Hydrogen peroxide are originally made to cleanse wounds, not to achieve a certain hair color. Sun exposure will also weaken your hair starnds and will result to more damage. Why not go in a salon instead and let them fix your hair dilemma?

Good luck! (^-^)
