My hair is poofy with slight curl how do I get defined curls?

Paul Mitchell recently came out with a new serum called round trip, its a curl defining cream, I also use Kenra's silkening gloss for shine, for overly frizzy hair you may need to spray some hairspray in it to keep the frizz down, one great thing for African American hair is a spray gel, put the two serums in your hair and spray some spray gel mainly at the ends (do all this while it is still damp or wet). Otherwise if you are at a complete loss, alot of African women will get a perm, not to achieve more curls but simply to define them, it works well. good luck

Those are the products I use in my hair and they work great. The products are about $15 per bottle.

Hope I helped!

I totally understand your problem! I have the same kind of Jill Scott- Erykah Badu-thick-poofy hair and I want soft- defined- Brazilian girl curls. Sometimes, I love my hair, most times I want to chop it all off! It's only a suggestion, it may not be for you, I'm not sure if it's for me yet, but...you might want to look into curl relaxers. They are not quite the same as regular African American relaxers; curl relaxers aren't as strong and you don't leave the chemicals in as long but you are supposed to get softer curls. I think if you found one, used it, and then got a straw set or spiral rollers, you might get the look you're going for.
