I need help on straigtening my hair!?

growing up i allways had short buzz-cut hair.,this past year, i decided to grow it out. its about 8 inches now. and i like it alot.

however, my hair is naturaly frizzy, with large curls.

but i do straighten my hair....

when ever i straighten it, i use keratin mist, by CHI, i love it, cause it actually works. however now that its longer and past my jaw line, the hair tends to curve around my jaw, so it looks like my hair is wraping around my jaw. rather than flaring out at the bottom.

of course, whenever i have one of my chick buddies straighten my hair, it looks fantastic, when i do it....its .....eh.....not that great, but better than my natural curls (i don't like curly hair)

so i'm asking, what can i do? is there a certain way to straighten that would help??

i usually wrap the hole thing with a rubber band at the top, then slowly take out small sections, give a spray of the keratin mist, comb it once or twice threw, then straighten.

i use a 2-inch wide ceramic straightener

i know what you are going through. because my is as equally curly and frizzy. i suggest you get a curling iron and kind of force your hair to curve the other way. and if that doesn't work let your hair grow out more because the curl around chin thing wont last for long.

I actually like when straightened hair has a tiny bit of life to it, such as a little flip here and there, but I know what you mean. I straightened my hair for almost 10 years and that drove me crazy. The one thing that you should really invest in is a straightening balm to apply just before you straighten those pieces. Product is probably the best way to fix it. Try going to a salon and asking a stylist what they would recommend.

Also, figure out if your straightener is a solid ceramic or just ceramic coated. There is a huge difference in the quality you will get from a solid ceramic plate.

Finally, you may want to see if it may just be the thickness of the hair in that area, or if the style/cut is creating the problem. Once again, I would ask a stylist next time you get a cut.

first off you dont need to use any hair products really...sencond off you dont need a straight iron either...i just blowdry it and i have done it to people who have your problem with big curly frizzy hair...my theory is you have to dry it anyway why not just get it straight...all you have to do is point the blowdryer down the whole time then after youve dont the top flip it over and do the bottom but remember the blowdryer has to point DOWN...then flip all your hair to one side and go with your hair not against it...then the other side same thing and then flip it back to normal and finish it if you still have to...well i hope i helped you and good luck
